Smileys (or Emoticons)

As suggested (no I did not promise!!  >:E) here is a legend for the smileys I tend to use.

x] = sheepish grin

xD = sheepish but slightly less apologetic, usually when I think I'm being funny

:D = really happy or excited

]x = not happy, deflated

Dx = really not happy, deflated or knowingly over-reacting - sometimes indicates panic

D: = not happy or sorry about something

>.> = "Pfft" I use this one a lot! It is a pair of half closed eyes looking down/sideways. Usually accompanied by a slight pout or a pulling flat of the lips which I can't reproduce with characters.

T_T = mock tears - eg: I have to do the dishes when I want to play Terraria

>:E = mock angry - I could bite the nearest person (but probably wont)

8D = mock SUPAH SPESHUL excited  - definitely think I'm being funny - could probably be described as a "Yay!" in manic form.

><;;/>_<;; = sheepish sweats - this one is uncommon but I do use it from time to time.

:) = feeling warm and fuzzy about the sentence or word in question
:( = genuinely sad about the sentence or word in question

;) = typo - I never wink
); = see above

I think that's about all I use. Will add more if I've forgotten any.

I use smileys a lot. I don't know what that says about me.

NB: I've taken a while to write this up - I don't know why I've been procrastinating about it. It's not as if it's an exposé on my personal life.
I've always had a problem with this - I have no problem with fiction but writing letters and the ilk was always difficult for me. That is, anything written for others. I suppose this is the problem of being too aware of the fact that this is going online.

Ugh! I found this site that ... umm ... better save that rant for later ... (wooo I'm so mysterious! >.>)

Picture time? Ok what shall I add? I added one to the top - do we really need one at the bottom?

I rate this post a YAY - mostly because I finally got it posted. ><;;

And so it begins ...

Ok, so!

I've been putting off doing a blog/livejournal/online diary for about 1000 years.
I've decided that I need something to do to get my motivation up and boosted and - meh - doing what everyone else is doing is kind of embarrassing but it could be personally beneficial <--- how is that spelled? Is there a spell checker here? Do people write in the blog or in Word (or something) and then paste to blogger? HAH! Can you tell I've just dived in with NO THOUGHT as to what I'm doing?  x]
I think I'm going to have to add a legend for my smileys ...

So ... umm ... I'm a little too aware that others might end up reading this so I might be a bit awkward to start. I have a real problem with running an agenda though so I guess that's struggling over my struggling which will make things double awkward. Ugh - typical me. Nothing can be easy. Did that make sense to you? HAH! I can see it doesn't really.

What I mean is ... I do not want to run an agenda myself because seeing it when others do it really REALLY bothers me. Why tell people to follow when they can decide for themselves? Why add tags etc that have little to NOTHING to do with your post? Hugs and Kisses? Puh-Leeeeze! Well, we know why they do it, don't we? *sigh* It bothers me - there was a line said by (OH HEY! I CAN TAG TRUE DETECTIVE HERE!  >.>) that guy in True Detective where he points to the vanity of the human race and how we've managed to convince ourselves that we're more than animals ... hmm ... should get a transcript of that so I can actually make some sense to you, dear reader ... I suppose we can edit a posted post?

Anyway, about my title - I couldn't get the name I wanted but wanted a title that matched the URL for simplicities sake. YAY or Pfft made me laugh so I went with it. I might regret it in the future!  8D
I guess this post is a mixture of Yay AND Pfft. I'm a tad Pfft about doing this at all - yet - I'm all Yay to be doing something at least ...

For the record, I have quite the dry wit. For those of you who don't know what that means, it means I'm a bit of an idiot who thinks she's funny.

['dry wit' is just another way of saying 'deadpan' - I think most people know what that means]

I have a slightly cynical way of looking at things but I do have a sense of humour about it. And yes, I can be facetious. Many miss my jokes in print so don't be alarmed if I say something you might find offensive. While it is not my intention to offend anyone, I can only be myself and all this self editing that happens on the internet is another thing that really bothers me, so I'll be doing that only as much as I would in real life. Which means I sometimes 'run off at the mouth' and 'get uppity'. >.>. To the more sensitive or contentious, I apologise in advance.

I should add a picture - should I add something to make you laugh, cry or go "awwww"?
Maybe something with all three?

Just to be clear - the funny part of this picture is that the kitten has eye gunk and some poor sap has to clean it! AHAHAHA (that poor sap is usually me). Not funny? Oh well.  :D
